Location-Based Service Terms

Article 1 (Purpose and operator)

These Terms govern RUNTORY outdoor GPS running records and account route backup/restore services.

Article 2 (Service)

When a user starts an outdoor run, RUNTORY uses device location to record route, distance, duration and pace. Location processing may continue while an active run is backgrounded where the operating system permits. Indoor running does not require a GPS route.

Signed-in users can use Firebase account backup/restore that may contain completed-run routes.

Article 3 (Collection and use)

Precise location, coordinate order/timestamps and derived route/distance/pace are used for the user-requested running record, record viewing and account backup/restore. RUNTORY does not currently use precise GPS routes for friend ranking or advertising.

Users can separately control the location-service consent and OS location permission. Without required consent/permission, outdoor GPS running may be unavailable while non-location features remain available where possible.

Article 4 (Retention and deletion)

Raw local GPS route geometry for a completed run is redacted on the next normal app startup after the run becomes older than 365 days. Non-route summaries such as distance/duration/pace/calories may remain for record functionality.

Firebase account backup may contain precise completed-run route assets and has a backup-generation/retention lifecycle separate from the local 365-day policy. The server account-deletion job cleans the user's Firebase Storage/Firestore backup. Personal location information is destroyed when no longer needed for the service, subject to applicable law.

Article 5 (Location-use fact records)

For location-law compliance and user rights, RUNTORY may keep a separate fact record that outdoor location use occurred. The current Firebase record does not contain raw latitude/longitude; it contains minimum facts such as hashed user/event identifiers, use time/method and third-party-provision status.

The current record carries a six-month retention deadline from the event time. Withdrawal of location consent or account deletion triggers the applicable deletion process for the current user's fact records.

Article 6 (User rights)

Users may withdraw all or part of location consent, request temporary suspension, adjust OS location permissions, and request access/notice or correction of applicable location-use/provision fact records under law. Requests can be sent to support.runpet@gmail.com; reasonable identity verification may be required.

When consent is withdrawn, applicable stored location information and fact records are deleted under current law/implementation. An active outdoor run may first be ended to preserve recording integrity/safety before withdrawal completes.

Article 7 (Third-party provision and external processing)

RUNTORY does not currently offer persistent precise-location sharing to user-designated third parties. Precise route backup assets may be processed in Cloud Storage for Firebase; the production bucket is configured in the Seoul region, South Korea. Related backup-finalization/deletion server work may use Cloud Functions in us-central1, United States. Current Friends and advertising boundaries do not receive precise GPS routes.

A temporary iOS legacy path remains only to delete pre-Firebase CloudKit location-use fact records on withdrawal/account deletion; it does not write new precise routes or new location-use fact records to CloudKit. Any future precise-location third-party sharing would require the applicable notice, consent and notification process.

Article 8 (Users under 14 and safeguards)

RUNTORY is for users aged 14 or older and does not provide a parental-consent flow for processing personal location information of children under 14.

RUNTORY applies data minimization, access control, user-scope ownership checks, release-log rules that avoid exposing precise routes, location-use fact recording and deletion/withdrawal procedures appropriate to the service.

GPS/sensor results may be inaccurate or delayed depending on device, network or environment. RUNTORY is not a medical, emergency-rescue or navigation service.
